I don't usually write reviews but this company is/was exceptional. They (Jeff) installed many units on 3 separate occassions. But, I must tell you about the last installation.Jeff installed 2 Medium units in 2 separate bathrooms on a Wed. On Saturday, we experienced a coastal weather storm w/heavy rain. I was leaving to return up North early Sun morning when I noticed a leak. I called Jeff and at 5pm he came to my home, went into the attic and stopped the leak. Then, he returned during the week and patched the roof. THAT, is customer service!!

Immokalee Tubular Skylight Installation

Done right, a tubular skylight gives you clear, usable daylight in the middle of your home without turning your roof into a leak risk or leaving you with ceiling damage to patch. Our tubular skylight installation in Immokalee focuses on tight flashing, a clean interior finish, and a tube path that delivers bright light where you actually need it. Most units are installed in about two hours, and the goal is simple: no drywall repair, no mess left behind, just daylight that looks like it belongs there.

A tubular skylight (often called a solar tube) is a sealed rooftop collector connected to a highly reflective tube that carries sunlight down to a ceiling diffuser. It's a practical way to brighten hallways, closets, laundry rooms, pantries, interior bathrooms, and other spaces that don't have good access to windows.

What a tubular skylight changes in an Immokalee home

Immokalee gets plenty of sun, and that's exactly what a tubular skylight is built to capture. The difference isn't only "more light." It's where the light lands: right in the center of a room that normally stays dim even at midday. That's the kind of improvement you notice every single day when you're moving through a hallway, sorting clothes, or cooking in an interior kitchen area.

Tubular skylights also feel different than a big traditional skylight because the diffuser spreads the light rather than creating a harsh beam. If you're concerned about brightness at certain times, sunlight dimming capabilities let you control it, which matters when you want daylight earlier in the day and less glare later.

Performance depends heavily on the tube interior. We install silver-lined solar tubes designed to be 99% reflective, so the light makes the trip from roof to ceiling with minimal loss. In real homes, that reflectivity is the difference between "it helps" and "it actually lights the space."

Tubular skylight installation process in Immokalee

A good install starts before anything is cut. We look at roof access and placement, then verify the tube path through the attic area so the skylight lands where you want it on the ceiling. Tubular skylights are forgiving, but they still need a clear plan around rafters, trusses, wiring, plumbing vents, and HVAC runs. Rushing this step is how you end up with a diffuser that's off-center or a tube with extra bends that reduce light.

  1. Placement and tube-path check (roof and ceiling): We confirm the roof location, ceiling target, and the cleanest route between them.
  2. Protect and prep: We cover the immediate work area and set up so debris is controlled from the start.
  3. Roof opening and weather-ready integration: We cut the roof opening to the correct diameter and integrate the flashing system so it sheds water the way the roof is meant to.
  4. Flashing and sealing: We use dual flexible flashing systems where appropriate, with attention to fit, fasteners, and seal points that stay watertight through Florida rain cycles.
  5. Tube assembly: We build and secure the reflective tube run, keeping it as straight as the structure allows to preserve brightness.
  6. Ceiling diffuser install: The diffuser and trim ring are installed cleanly so the finished look is neat and intentional.
  7. Final check and cleanup: We verify alignment, interior fit, and exterior sealing, then clean up so you're not left with a jobsite.

Because the ceiling finish is designed as part of the system, most installs don't require drywall repair. That's one reason tubular skylights are a popular choice when you want a fast upgrade with minimal disruption.

Choosing the right tube, diffuser, and light control

Not every home needs the same tubular skylight. The best setup depends on the room's purpose and the roof-to-ceiling distance. A laundry room you use a few minutes at a time can be handled differently than a long interior hallway you walk through all day.

We offer 50+ product combinations, and that flexibility matters because the roof and ceiling rarely line up in a perfect straight shot. Decisions we'll help you make during your free estimate include:

  • Diameter and light output goals: Larger tubes deliver more daylight, but placement and tube length also influence results.
  • Tube path and bends: Straighter runs keep the system brighter. If the framing forces offsets, we plan them to protect performance.
  • Diffuser style: Different diffuser options change how the light spreads, which affects glare and the feel of the room.
  • Sunlight dimming capabilities: If you want control for naps, media rooms, or late-afternoon brightness, dimming adds practical comfort.

We'll also talk through any constraints that affect placement. For example, moving the roof dome a short distance to avoid an obstruction can improve the tube run and brightness without changing the usefulness of the light inside the room.

Water management and roof protection during Immokalee installs

The roof opening is the part homeowners worry about most, and it should be. A tubular skylight only stays "set it and forget it" when the flashing and sealing are handled like roof work, not like an interior accessory. In Immokalee, heavy rain and wind-driven storms put extra pressure on transitions and fasteners, so the details matter.

Our installs focus on water shedding first. The flashing is fitted so it works with the roof surface and directs water away from the opening. A tube that's perfectly bright isn't a good trade if the perimeter wasn't sealed and secured correctly.

If you're replacing an older tubular skylight, we treat it as a fresh installation at the roofline. Old sealant, brittle components, and mismatched flashing are common sources of leaks. Replacing the unit without correcting the roof integration keeps the same problem in place.

Warning signs that point to an installation issue (or an older unit that needs replacement) include:

  • Yellowing, bubbling, or staining around the diffuser ring
  • Drips during heavy rain or only when wind pushes rain in one direction
  • Condensation you can't explain that appears inside the tube or at the diffuser
  • Loose or noisy exterior components after storms

If you notice any of these, it's better to address it early. Small water entry points can cause larger ceiling repairs later, and tubular skylight problems are usually most cost-effective when handled before the surrounding materials are affected.

FAQ about tubular skylights

How long does a tubular skylight installation take?

Most units are installed in about two hours. The exact duration depends on roof access and the tube path through the attic area, but the work is designed to be quick and clean.

Will I need drywall repair after installation?

In most cases, no. Tubular skylight systems finish at the ceiling with a diffuser and trim ring, so the interior opening doesn't usually require drywall patching or repainting.

Does a tubular skylight bring in unwanted heat?

A properly installed tubular skylight is built to deliver light efficiently through a sealed system. We'll discuss placement, diffuser choices, and dimming options so you get useful daylight without the "too bright at the wrong time" problem.

Where can a tubular skylight be installed inside my home?

Tubular skylights work best for interior spaces that lack windows: hallways, closets, pantries, laundry rooms, and bathrooms. During the estimate, we verify a workable tube path and place the diffuser where it lights the space evenly.

What warranties come with the installation?

Our tubular skylight systems include a 10 Year Product Warranty and a 3 Year Install Warranty.

Tubular Skylight is family-owned and operated, founded in 1994, and we install tubular skylights right here in Immokalee. We back the work with clear warranties, and we keep the process clean so your home doesn't feel like a construction zone.

If you want daylight added to a specific room and you want the roof penetration handled with care, request a free estimate. Our work quality standards are the same ones trusted on demanding sites like NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and Fort McHenry, and we bring that attention to detail to every tubular skylight installation.
